Swindon’s Burger King drive thru is set to reopen, for delivery only.
Along with three other locations, two in Bristol and one in Coventry it is believed plans are in place for the fast food chain to reopen, offering a limited menu.
Social distancing rules will be followed and employees will only be asked to work if they feel comfortable.
The fast food chain said workers will wear masks and gloves while observing strict cleaning rules, and will be trained in social distancing and running delivery-only kitchens hygienically.
The four restaurants will be donating 1,000 meals per week to staff working at NHS hospitals.
Katie Evans, marketing director at the chain, said Burger King hoped the re-openings would go “some way to lifting our customers’ spirits in these difficult times.”
This news follows on from KFC announcing they will be opening eleven stores offering takeaway and delivery although none of the Swindon locations are currently on the list.
