Amazon is pulling out all the stops ahead of its highly anticipated Prime Big Deal Days, with the help of two of Britain’s fastest athletes, Zharnel Hughes and Dina Asher-Smith. The Olympians, known for their record-breaking speed on the track, have taken on new roles as Amazon athletes, delivering Prime orders with lightning-fast precision.
As part of the promotion for the two-day event on the 8th and 9th of October, Asher-Smith and Hughes star in a short film, sprinting through the streets to make special deliveries to unsuspecting customers. The playful video showcases their competitive streak as they race each other to deliver packages in record time, embodying Amazon’s ongoing commitment to speedy service.
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days promises Prime members exclusive access to a vast selection of discounted items across popular categories, including electronics, beauty products, and fashion. The event comes alongside Amazon’s expansion of Same-Day Delivery, now available in over 80 towns and cities across the UK, with recent additions such as Aberdeen, Middlesbrough, and Plymouth.
Olympic sprinter Dina Asher-Smith, fresh off a silver medal win in Paris, shared her enthusiasm: “Speed is everything to me, so it’s been a lot of fun helping Amazon bring their customers faster deliveries. I loved seeing the joy on people’s faces when we delivered their parcels with a little extra surprise.”
Zharnel Hughes, who took bronze in the men’s relay, added: “Swapping batons for parcels was a great challenge, but I’m confident we made those deliveries faster than anyone else could!”
Amazon’s UK Country Manager, John Boumphrey, praised the athletes, stating: “We’re always aiming to improve our services for Prime members, and what better way to celebrate our fastest deliveries than with Britain’s quickest athletes? Same-Day Delivery is now available in more locations, and we’re excited for what’s to come during Prime Big Deal Days.”
