Housebuilders Barratt Homes Bristol and Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, with active developments in Wichelstowe, have shown their commitment to the local community by donating a substantial £127,500 to charities in the South West region over the past year.
As part of their ongoing dedication to creating positive legacies in the communities where they build, the housebuilders have been providing funding for various charities and organisations in the region. Among the beneficiaries was Wiltshire Air Ambulance, a vital service offering helicopter emergency medical assistance across Wiltshire, Bath, and surrounding areas.

Facing the challenge of raising £4 million annually to sustain their lifesaving operations, Wiltshire Air Ambulance operates 19 hours a day, 365 days a year, relying on public generosity and support from local businesses.
The recent donation from Barratt Homes Bristol and Barratt David Wilson Homes South West is set to make a significant impact on the charity’s ability to continue its crucial missions in the region.
Naomi Barker, Corporate Partnerships Lead at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, expressed gratitude, saying, “The generous donation exemplifies a commitment to the local community and recognises the invaluable services we provide across Wiltshire and Bath. This support will undoubtedly make a significant impact on our ability to continue with our lifesaving work in the region.”
Recognising the financial challenges faced by many during the current cost-of-living crisis, Barratt Homes’ charity drive aims to alleviate some of these pressures. Andrea Pilgrim, Sales Director for Barratt Homes Bristol, said, “We believe in the power of community and the transformative effect that collective efforts can have on creating a better and more inclusive society.”
Every month, each Barratt David Wilson Homes division can contribute £1,500 to a local concern working to improve the quality of life for residents in their area.
The developments at Wichelstowe, including Orchards Rise, Orchards View, and Wichel Fields, are part of one of the largest local authority joint venture agreements in the country. This ambitious project, in partnership with Swindon Borough Council, aims to deliver 3,000 new homes over twenty years, accompanied by new schools and community facilities.
