A local housebuilder, dedicated to fostering positive change within the community, has extended a helping hand to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, making a substantial contribution to bolstering their critical services.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance serves as a vital lifeline, that provides helicopter-based emergency medical aid to Wiltshire, Bath, and the neighbouring areas. Operating for 19 hours a day, 365 days a year, the service comprises a steadfast team consisting of a helicopter and two crucial care vehicles. In the opening half of 2023, the charity embarked on 543 missions, averaging an impressive three incidents daily.
It faces the ongoing challenge of raising £4 million each year to sustain its lifesaving operations. With no regular direct Government funding or National Lottery grants, the charity relies on the generosity of the public and local businesses to fulfil its crucial missions.
Recognising the financial hardships faced by many individuals and organisations during the current cost-of-living crisis, Wiltshire Air Ambulance has encountered similar, significant challenges – escalating fuel costs, which have doubled over the past 12 months, and rising energy bills at their airbase have placed additional strain on their resources.
