Barratt David Wilson Homes Celebrate Sixteen Years of Top Marks from Homebuyers

It’s a proud moment for Barratt David Wilson Homes in Wiltshire, as the local housebuilder marks its sixteenth consecutive year of receiving a 5-star rating for customer satisfaction – a feat no other developer in the country has yet matched.

Barratt Homes and Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, both active across Wiltshire, earned the top marks in the Home Builders Federation (HBF) annual New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey. More than 90% of customers said they would recommend the builder to a friend, placing the company firmly at the top of the rankings.

The rating reflects feedback from around 50,000 people across the UK who recently purchased a new build home. The star system is based on a simple but telling question: would you recommend your builder to a friend? For 5 stars, the answer must be a resounding “yes” from at least 90% of respondents – a target Barratt David Wilson Homes has consistently met.

To mark this record-breaking achievement, parent company Barratt Redrow is donating £25,000 to the Construction Youth Trust – a charity that supports young people in pursuing careers within the construction industry.

Locally, Barratt and David Wilson Homes are continuing to shape communities through major developments like Wichelstowe in Swindon, a joint effort with Swindon Borough Council to create a sustainable neighbourhood complete with schools, parks, and vital infrastructure. Elsewhere, homes are springing up at Buckley Gardens in Melksham and Honeymans Helm in Highworth, while Barratt Homes Bristol prepares to launch its new Platinum Place site in Hilperton come spring 2025.

Andrea Pilgrim, Sales Director for Barratt Homes Bristol, credits the consistent success to putting customers first: “Being recognised as a 5-star housebuilder again shows the level of care we put into everything – from design and build quality to post-move support.”

Her counterpart at Barratt David Wilson Homes, Louise Ware, added: “It’s not just about bricks and mortar – it’s about delivering an experience that customers are proud to recommend.”

The success builds on the housebuilder’s winning streak at the prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. Known as the ‘Oscars’ of the construction industry, these awards saw Barratt site managers bring home 89 accolades last year – more than any other builder – and for the 20th year in a row.

Neil Jefferson, Chief Executive of the HBF, summed it up by saying: “The industry has shown its commitment to customer service. What we’re seeing is an ongoing effort to raise standards, right across the board – and customers have taken notice.”

For Wiltshire buyers, the message is clear: if you want a home that comes recommended by thousands, Barratt David Wilson is continuing to lead the way.
