Awdry Law’s Charity Golf Day in September 2024 has proved to be a remarkable success, with the money raised for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice doubled thanks to the charity’s BigGive Campaign. The original funds raised on the day have been matched, bringing the grand total to an impressive £19,550. These vital funds will go towards supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families, offering much-needed care during challenging times.
Tim Hotchkiss, Partner at Awdry Law and the driving force behind the golf event, expressed his delight at the outcome: “We are absolutely thrilled that the majority of the funds raised during our Charity Golf Day have been successfully doubled as part of the BigGive campaign. This has made an enormous difference to our fundraising efforts, allowing us to support even more families in need. We’re extremely grateful to the 88 golfers and the many businesses across Wiltshire and beyond who generously contributed to the day. The total raised has far surpassed our expectations, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.”
The BigGive Christmas Challenge is the UK’s largest match-funded fundraising initiative, offering charities the chance to double donations made during the campaign. For Julia’s House, this means that every donation made through the BigGive platform will provide twice the impact, enabling the charity to offer more care sessions, extend the benefits of their sensory room, and give families more quality time with specialist nurses and carers.
Jo Common from Julia’s House shared her gratitude, saying: “This is simply amazing. It’s a wonderful reflection of the dedication and passion the Awdry Law team put into supporting us. We can’t thank everyone enough for their contributions, which will make such a difference to the lives of our children and their families.”
The campaign ran from December 3 to 10, with the goal of raising £90,000 to provide light and joy to local families this Christmas. The success of Awdry Law’s fundraising efforts will play a key role in helping Julia’s House meet this ambitious target.
Awdry Law, which has offices in Chippenham, Devizes, Marlborough, Royal Wootton Bassett, and Swindon, is known for its ongoing support of Julia’s House. In addition to the golf day, their employees recently took part in a challenging 100km walk, further demonstrating their commitment to supporting the local charity.
For those wishing to support Julia’s House and continue the momentum, donations can still be made via the BigGive platform at this link.
