The atmosphere was electric as the Arkell’s Darts League Finals and Presentation night unfolded on Tuesday, 27th February, at The Moonrakers in Swindon.
With special appearances by darts icons Wayne Mardle and Scott Mitchell, the event surpassed all expectations, leaving attendees buzzing with excitement.

The much-anticipated Finals and Presentation night of the Arkell’s Darts League drew eager participants and spectators alike. It was a celebration of darts and community, with thrilling matches and celebrity guests adding to the excitement.
The league extended a warm invitation to the public, acknowledging the growing popularity of darts and its significance within the local community, particularly with recent successes like those of Luke Littler.
The evening kicked off with four gripping finals, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of darting action:
- Men’s B League Singles Final: Lee Eaton vs. Andy Cutting (Winner, Andy Cutting, Tawny Owl)
- Ladies Singles Final: Liz Bowen vs. Christine Wall (Winner, Liz Bowen, Southbrook)
- Men’s A League Singles Final: Ashley McKeever vs. Dec Cox (Winner, Ashley McKeever, Tawny Owl)
- Landlords Singles Final: Alun Rossiter (The Southbrook) vs. Colin Walker (The Manor) (Winner, Alun Rossiter)
Following the intense competition, attention turned to the presentation ceremony, where champions of the Summer and Winter Leagues were duly recognised and rewarded. Alun Rossiter from The Southbrook Inn emerged victorious in the Landlords Cup category.
A delightful spread awaited attendees, featuring chili and curry to tantalise the taste buds and fuel the festivities.
The highlight of the evening came when Wayne Mardle, a revered figure in the darts world, took to the board to engage in a series of five legs against a lineup of opponents, including finalists and lucky raffle draw winners.
Attendees relished the opportunity to interact with the darting legends, capturing cherished photographs and securing sought-after autographs.
The Arkell’s Darts League committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.
