Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses following a serious hit-and-run collision in Swindon, which has left a man in his 40s with potentially life-changing injuries.
The incident occurred on 30th January at around 3:35 pm at the junction of Bay Tree Court and Pinehurst Road. A green Vauxhall Adam Glam, which had been reported stolen from Old Town the night before, struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene. The vehicle was later located by officers nearby, but the two males inside had already abandoned it and fled on foot towards Hornbeam Court.
Authorities are working to identify the suspects, who are both described as white. One was wearing blue jeans and a white top, while the other was dressed in all black. One of the men had a beard, while the other was wearing a hat.
Sergeant James Barrett of the Roads Policing Unit stressed the severity of the incident, urging the public to come forward with any information. “This was a very serious collision which has left the pedestrian with significant injuries. We believe there will be more people who either witnessed the collision or saw the suspects fleeing the scene.”
Residents in the area are also being encouraged to check their Ring doorbell footage for any potential sightings of the suspects or the vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting reference 542500012417.
