England’s largest not-for-profit provider of later living services, Anchor, opened its latest venture, Marsh Farm Manor, in Coped Hall, Royal Wootton Bassett this week.
The honour of opening the doors to this new 66-bed care home was bestowed upon Royal Wootton Bassett Mayor, Councillor Eve Silvester, in a momentous ceremony.

As a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing housing and care for individuals in their later years, Anchor extended invitations to the Mayor and esteemed members of the local community to join in this celebratory occasion, marked by the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony.
A contemporary home set in luxurious and comfortable surroundings, Marsh Farm Manor was acquired by Anchor from Halcyon Homes last July, and features ensuite wet rooms, a hair and beauty salon, coffee area, lounges, quiet spaces, and private landscaped gardens with outdoor seating areas. With over 80 per cent of the roof covered in solar panels and onsite battery stores retaining spare energy produced, the new care home has an Energy Performance Certificate A rating.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Councillor Eve Silvester had the privilege of embarking on a guided tour of Marsh Farm Manor. Joining her were Sarah Jones, Anchor’s Chief Executive, and Rob Martin, the Managing Director of Care Services.
Mayor Councillor Eve Silvester expressed her congratulations, saying, “I’d like to congratulate everyone involved in the opening of Marsh Farm Manor, which will provide much-needed care for local residents. It was great to meet with Anchor staff and witness, in person, Anchor’s commitment to creating sustainable and energy-efficient homes. With such a warm environment, I am sure new residents will enjoy the thoughtful and individualised care provided by Anchor.”
Rob Martin, Managing Director of Care Services at Anchor, shared his enthusiasm for Marsh Farm Manor’s addition to their care home portfolio, highlighting the luxurious amenities, captivating surroundings, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere that residents will experience. He stated, “With 60 years of experience, Anchor is continuously working hard to meet the changing needs and expectations of our residents, and this latest addition to our portfolio of care homes showcases the progress we are making towards creating sustainable and energy-efficient homes. We are proud to continue creating places where residents can love living in later life and look forward to welcoming residents to this fantastic new location.”
