The triumphant team, comprising four clubs – Mill Street Club in Trowbridge, Sidmouth Street Club in Devizes, Old Silk Works in Warminster, and Scots Lane Club in Salisbury, provides invaluable support to people living with dementia and their families across Wiltshire. Their commitment to creating a warm and inclusive environment for group activities has earned them widespread acclaim.

Sarah Marriott, CEO of Alzheimer’s Support, expressed her pride in the team’s achievement, stating, “We’re incredibly proud to win the Dementia Care Award and to have had the opportunity to be among so many inspiring individuals and groups who make up the not-for-profit care sector.”

“The hard working and inspirational teams that run our day clubs in Wiltshire are very much deserving of this recognition. They bring much-needed respite to their communities, serving not only those with dementia but the families who are often struggling to cope. I am very proud to be part of this wonderful team.”

The awards ceremony, held at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham and hosted by actress and television presenter Sally Lindsay, brought together leaders in health and social care from across the UK. Neil Galjaard, Divisional Managing Director at Markel, commended Alzheimer’s Support for their exceptional contribution, emphasising the importance of recognising and celebrating the tireless efforts of those in the care sector.

Entries for next year’s awards will be opening later this year, welcoming nominations from anyone working in the not-for-profit sector.
