On Monday 12 June works commenced on the second Phase of Akers Way which sees a 200 meter section between Purton Road Roundabout and Nova Hreod Academy closed in both directions. The work is progressing well, the surface course has been removed and necessary repairs to the concrete sub base are underway.
The diversion route for the remainder phases of work at Akers Way will be, Purton Road, Moredon Road, Cheney Manor Road and Akers Way. Access is to be maintained to the Nova Hreod Academy junction during this phase.
The diversion route is clearly signed in both directions for the duration of the works.
During the works there may be some congestion, so we urge motorists to allow extra time for their journeys through this area.
