Christmas at the Wyvern Theatre just got a little more magical.
Rising West End star and TikTok sensation Abbie Budden will be joining the cast of this year’s pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, which runs from 6 December to 4 January.
Abbie, who has built a huge online following with her witty comedy shorts, impressions and theatre content, most recently appeared on stage in Cruel Intentions (The Other Palace & UK Tour) and previously lit up panto at Ipswich Regent Theatre. Now she brings her talent and sparkle to Swindon for the festive season.
She’ll join an already glittering line-up: TV’s The Chase quiz queen Jenny Ryan, Swindon’s much-loved ‘resident’ Dame David Ashley, and The Choir of Man’s Ben Goffe, who returns for a second year hot on the heels of his UK Pantomime Awards nomination for Best Comic.

“I am a panto fan. As a family we visited panto every year – it was a real tradition for us – so I am delighted to be part of Christmas for other families! It’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s a classic fairy tale you know and love, with all your favourite little panto gags, and this cast is going to bring something really special to the stage. I can’t wait!”
Produced by the award-winning Imagine Theatre, Sleeping Beauty promises all the magic, laughter, slapstick and spectacle audiences expect from the Wyvern’s annual panto tradition.
The timeless tale sees wicked fairy Carabosse cast a curse on the Princess, causing her to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into an enchanted sleep. But will true love save her before it’s too late?
Packed with songs, silliness and sparkle, it’s set to be Swindon’s ultimate family treat this festive season.
