A Swindon author has raised an incredible £1000 for charity through his collection of short stories, with all proceeds going towards World Vision’s efforts to support children affected by the war in Ukraine.
Peter Frost, author of Uncle Chris’s Second Collection of Crafty Short Stories, has been overwhelmed by the support his books have received. His publisher has credited the press coverage for driving interest in the books, resulting in a significant boost in sales. Now, with momentum behind him, Frost has set a new target of £3000, hoping to raise even more for those in need.
Speaking about the fundraising milestone, Frost said: “I can’t thank everyone enough for their support. Every single purchase of the book is making a real difference to children in Ukraine, and it’s wonderful to see the power of storytelling being used for good.”
The books have also caught the attention of Hampshire’s Fiesta FM radio station, which invited Frost for an interview in March to discuss his writing and fundraising efforts.
World Vision has acknowledged the donation with a thank-you note and receipt, and Frost hopes this is just the beginning of something even bigger. “I’ve been a supporter of World Vision for 30 years, and it means a lot to be able to contribute in this way. If you enjoy a good mystery with a twist, these books are perfect for you – and you’ll be helping a great cause at the same time.”
The Uncle Chris short story collections each feature a series of gripping, ten-minute mystery tales, with unexpected endings that keep readers guessing. Both books are available in paperback and eBook formats from Waterstones and Amazon.
If you haven’t yet picked up a copy, now is the time to do so – every penny raised goes directly to World Vision to support children in Ukraine.
