Christ Church will once again provide the perfect setting for live music as the Swindon Recital Series launches the build‑up to its new season with Swindon’s Summer Prom on Sunday 10th August 2025.
From 3pm to 4pm, audiences can enjoy the evocative music of Johannes Brahms, performed by celebrated pianist Paul Turner, whose artistry has long been at the heart of this series. This special afternoon will offer a preview of what lies ahead in a season that promises more superb performances, including a September concert at the Wyvern Theatre featuring Turner alongside clarinettist Elizabeth Drew and cellist Caroline Dale.
Turner, the Founder and Artistic Director of the Swindon Recital Series, is well known for attracting musicians of the highest calibre, many of whom have graced stages such as Wigmore Hall and appeared in the BBC Proms. His own career has seen him perform internationally, earning high praise for his clarity of playing and his ability to bring out the depth of every piece.
Swindon’s Summer Prom is free to attend, with a retiring collection on the day. Refreshments will be served from 2.30pm, with cash or cheque payments only.
