Swindon Photographic Society is set to launch its new season with a Welcome Night on Thursday, 5th September.

Swindon Photographic Society, which recently celebrated its 125th anniversary, has a rich history that spans from the era of glass plate cameras to today’s digital age. Despite the advances in technology, the core objective of the club remains unchanged: to assist and encourage the enjoyment of photography.
The club continues to adapt to modern advancements, offering about ten meetings a month that include location shoots, Zoom sessions, and club room gatherings. Highlights of the schedule include guest speakers, competitions, and image battles with visiting clubs.
A recent and notable innovation within the society is the introduction of Special Interest Groups (SIGs). These groups focus on specific photography styles and offer practical sessions, reviews, and location shoots. Currently, SIGs include Landscape, Street, Portrait, and Analogue photography, with members free to start new groups based on their interests.
