Mum’s The Word, an informal and friendly group for mothers passionate about writing, proudly announces the release of their latest literary venture, “Mum’s The Word – An Anthology of Writing and Illustrations.”
The group, who meet on the first Tuesday of every month from 7.30-9pm, celebrated this achievement with a joyous launch party at Lower Shaw Farm on Tuesday, October 7th, 2023, attended by over 50 guests eager to partake in the festivities.
Founded as a nurturing and creative space for mothers in Swindon, Mum’s The Word serves as a supportive community where women can cultivate their literary talents amidst the demands of motherhood.
At the launch event, Helen Allen and Emma Lord, members of Mum’s The Word, shared their personal journeys as both writers and mothers, highlighting the positive impact the group has had on their creative pursuits and personal growth. Contributors Penni Seviour and Ann Corrigan captivated the audience with engaging readings from the anthology.
The anthology, “Mum’s The Word – An Anthology of Writing and Illustrations,” is a rich tapestry of creativity, featuring short fiction, poems, comic strips, photography, and even a mini writing challenge for readers. This diverse collection beautifully showcases the talents of local women and underscores the artistic vibrancy of the Swindon community.
