Swindon theatre-goers are in for a chilling and fascinating evening this autumn as the UK’s most distinguished forensic pathologist, Dr Richard Shepherd, brings his new show, Time of Death – More Unnatural Causes, to the Wyvern Theatre on 27 October.
Following the success of his 2021/22 tour Unnatural Causes, based on his Sunday Times best-selling book, Dr Shepherd’s latest show explores the forensic investigation of sudden and suspicious deaths. Audiences will be taken behind the headlines to see how every minute after death can reveal vital clues in accidents, murders, and unexplained fatalities.
With over 24,000 autopsies to his name, Dr Shepherd has worked on some of the country’s most high-profile cases, including the Hungerford Massacre, Princess Diana Inquiry, London Bombings, Jo Cox MP, 9/11, and Russian assassination squads. His work has brought justice, overturned unsafe convictions, and shed light on humanity’s darkest moments.
The show combines forensic science with a personal insight into Dr Shepherd’s extraordinary career, revealing how a life spent confronting death shapes a person. It promises to be both gripping and deeply moving, appealing to true crime enthusiasts, fans of forensic medicine, and anyone curious about the human condition.
Dr Shepherd will also appear on television this September in Body in the Water, airing from 16 September on TRUE CRIME UK. Episodes will be available to stream on WATCH FREE UK and via ITVX.
Time of Death – More Unnatural Causes is part of OINK Gallery’s Inner City Dreamers exhibition tour. Tickets are available from the Wyvern Theatre box office.
