Sarah Markham and Paul Turner are set to take an Arts Centre audience on a captivating journey back in time to the vibrant café culture of 1930s Paris. The concert, scheduled for Saturday, April 6th at 7.30pm at the Swindon Arts Centre, will feature works by influential composers of the period, including Darius Milhaud, Jacques Ibert, Claude Delvincourt, and Paule Maurice. From jazz to French chanson, tango to classical, the diverse repertoire reflects the rich tapestry of sounds that would have filled the cafes of Paris during this golden era.

Renowned saxophonist Sarah Markham, hailed by critics for her “sustained feat of exuberance” and “extraordinary, haunted magic,” will be joined by pianist Paul Turner, an Honours graduate and Associate of the Royal Academy of Music, known for his exemplary clarity and poise at the keys.

Tickets for this musical journey are priced at £16 for adults and £13 for Seniors and unwaged individuals, with a theatre administration fee of £1.50. Student tickets are available for £3, and accompanied children aged 14 and under will be admitted free of charge. Additionally, there is an online transaction fee of £3.65 for each transaction.

Sarah Markham, a Yamaha and Vandoren Performing Artist, brings nearly three decades of performing, recording, and teaching experience to the stage. Her extensive discography includes solo and chamber music releases, showcasing her virtuosity and versatility as a saxophonist.
