Celebrity chef, author and presenter Rick Stein is bringing some festive flavour to theatres across the UK this winter with his brand-new live show, Rick Stein’s Countdown to Christmas!.
The eight-date tour kicks off at Cambridge Corn Exchange on 24 November and will take in venues around the country, including a special appearance at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London’s West End on 1 December, before concluding on 8 December at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall. Tickets go on sale at midday on Friday 12 September via RickStein.Live.
In the show, Stein promises to share more than just recipes. Expect seasonal tales, treasured family traditions, and the sort of advice only decades in the kitchen can provide. From Christmas classics to more adventurous dishes influenced by his travels, the evening will be a mix of nostalgia, inspiration and practical know-how – with tips on everything from getting the timings right to salvaging the unexpected.
Stein, who is releasing his latest book Rick Stein’s Christmas on 6 November through BBC Books, says food remains at the heart of the season:
“Food is a fundamental part of the magic of Christmas – it’s interwoven into all our fondest memories. I can’t wait to share some of mine on stage. It’s been fun doing the previous tours, so I hope that more people will come to hear my stories and enjoy them as much as I do telling them.”
With more than 25 cookery books, 30 television programmes (including 12 cookery series), 10 restaurants and several hotels to his name, Rick Stein’s career is a story of perseverance and passion. His ability to connect food, family and culture has made him one of Britain’s most recognised and best-loved chefs.
This festive tour looks set to be more than just a cookery demo – it’s a warm, spirited evening that captures the essence of Christmas, blending laughter, inspiration and the kind of stories only Stein can tell.
Rick Stein will be in Swindon on 27 November at The Wyvern Theatre
