Stand-up comedian and actor Paul Chowdhry will be bringing his new tour, Englandia, to Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre on 7th March 2025. The tour, which begins in Ipswich on 2nd March, includes 33 dates across the UK, with stops at both regional theatres and major arenas, including Birmingham’s Utilita Arena and The O2 in London.
Recognised as one of Britain’s most successful British-Asian comedians, Chowdhry has made a substantial impact on the comedy scene. His previous tours, including Family-Friendly Comedian, saw notable success, with several sold-out dates and extensions to meet audience demand. His 2023 run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival concluded to critical acclaim, marking him as a prominent figure in modern stand-up comedy. Prior to this, Chowdhry’s Live Innit tour achieved record-breaking results, with a five-night run at the Hammersmith Apollo and a sold-out show at London’s Wembley Arena, a first for a British-Asian comedian.
Over his career, Chowdhry has garnered several awards, including “Best Live Event” at the ITV Asian Media Awards and “Comedian of the Year” honours from both the Asian Voice Awards and the Eastern Eye Awards. Known for his frank and often satirical humour, Chowdhry addresses cultural and social themes relevant to contemporary Britain. His work has received both praise and a sizeable following, marking him as an influential voice in British comedy.
