Comedy legend Jack Dee is preparing to embark on a major UK tour with his brand-new show, Small World, starting in September 2024 and running through to the end of 2025. This tour will see Dee grace stages across the country, including Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre on Thursday, 30th January 2025.
Firmly established as one of Britain’s foremost comedy stars, Jack Dee has captivated audiences and critics alike with his dry humour and deadpan delivery for nearly four decades. In Small World, Dee promises a journey through the inconsequential yet oddly fascinating minutiae of life. Forget tackling the weighty issues of culture wars, the environment, British foreign policy, and social justice; Dee instead offers his unique takes on Zoom etiquette, radiator innovations, and the pitfalls of career advice.
Jack Dee’s reputation for dissecting the absurdities of everyday life with his characteristic charm is well-earned. A regular fixture on BBC Radio 4, he chairs the iconic ‘antidote to panel games’, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, and frequently tours the live stage version of the show.
In addition to his radio and live performances, Dee co-hosts the popular podcast Oh My Dog! with fellow comedian Seann Walsh, where they interview well-known dog owners about their pets. Notable recent guests include Julian Clary, Beverley Knight, Romesh Ranganathan, Rob Beckett, and Alan Carr.
Dee’s television credentials are equally impressive. He co-wrote and starred in the sitcoms Lead Balloon for BBC Two and Bad Move for ITV. His bestselling autobiography Thanks for Nothing and the comedic agony uncle book What Is Your Problem?, published in 2021, further showcase his wit and insight.
A frequent host on Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Dee’s recent TV appearances include presenting Very Nearly An Armful, a documentary on Tony Hancock’s life (Gold), QI (BBC One), Jack Dee’s HelpDesk (BBC Two), The Apprentice: You’re Fired (BBC Two), and starring as Geoff in three series of the BBC Three hit JOSH. Dee’s stand-up special Jack Dee Off The Telly was recorded at The Comedy Store in London’s West End, cementing his status as a stalwart of British comedy.
Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre is set to welcome Jack Dee’s sardonic humour and sharp observations on 30th January 2025, promising an evening of laughs and reflections on life’s smaller absurdities.
Tickets are on general sale: 11am Thursday 23 May 2024
