World Book Day celebrates books and offers a chance for children to dress up as their favourite characters and play games linked to their favourite stories.
The event will see children and teachers all over the Swindon dress as their favourite characters whilst taking part in school events before receiving precious book tokens for them to spend.
More than 100 countries around the world join in this annual celebration of authors, illustrators and most importantly reading.
The aim of World Book Day, which this year is celebrating its 20th anniversary, is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.
Book tokens will be given to children so they can purchase £1 books from a special selected list of titles.
