Full Summer Programme Revealed for Town Gardens Bowl as Swindon Prepares for Season of Live Events

A packed programme of live entertainment is heading to Swindon this summer, with South Swindon Parish Council unveiling a varied line-up of events at the Town Gardens Bowl.

Running across the warmer months, the schedule brings together music, theatre, comedy and family-friendly shows, offering something for all ages in one of the town’s most recognisable outdoor settings. The Town Gardens, a long-standing focal point in Old Town, continue to host seasonal events that draw crowds from across the area.

This year’s programme opens on 3 May with Locomotive for Murder: The Improvised Whodunnit, setting the tone for a summer built around live performance and audience participation. From there, the calendar moves swiftly through tribute acts, touring productions and returning favourites.

Music plays a central role, with shows including The Mumford and Sons Story, OASIZ, Supersonic Queen and Seriously Collins, all bringing well-known sounds to the outdoor stage. Meanwhile, fans of more theatrical performances can look forward to productions such as The (Almost) Complete History of Britain and Parody of the Rings, blending humour with storytelling.

For families, the programme offers a strong mix of daytime and early evening entertainment. Events such as Music for Miniatures, Comedy Club 4 Kids, The Great Baldini Family Magic Show and The Mushroom Show are all designed with younger audiences in mind, while larger attractions like KAPOW Wrestling and Alice in Wonderland are expected to draw bigger crowds as the summer holidays get underway.

There is also a continued focus on variety, with improvisational theatre, tribute concerts and interactive performances all making an appearance across the season. The return of familiar events alongside new additions reflects a growing appetite locally for accessible, open-air entertainment.

The Town Gardens Bowl itself remains a unique venue within Swindon, offering a relaxed setting that combines live performance with green space. Its continued use for community events highlights the wider role played by South Swindon Parish Council in supporting local culture and bringing people together.

With a line-up that stretches from May through to August, this year’s programme looks set to deliver another busy summer in Old Town—one that blends entertainment with a strong sense of community.

Tickets for all events are available online via the parish council’s website.
