The UK’s biggest rock and metal festival, Download, has just ramped up excitement for 2025 with the announcement of 22 more artists joining the already massive line-up. Set to take over Donington Park from 13th to 15th June, this year’s edition promises to be one of the most diverse and electrifying yet.
Newly added acts include punk rock legends Rise Against, progressive metal icons Opeth, hard rock favourites Shinedown, and the ever-energetic Palaye Royale. Also joining the bill are AWOLNATION, Power Trip, Hatebreed, Municipal Waste, Cattle Decapitation, Crossfaith, and Kids In Glass Houses, among many others.
These fresh additions come on top of an already staggering line-up, with Green Day, Sleep Token, and Korn set to headline the three-day festival. Other major acts on the bill include Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Within Temptation, Eagles of Death Metal, The Darkness, and the much-anticipated return of the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter.
Senior booker Kamran Haq spoke about the diverse selection of artists: “We’re incredibly proud of this line-up. Whether you’re into metal, punk, alternative rock or anything in between, there’s something for everyone. And the best part? There’s still more to come.”
For returning favourites like Shinedown, stepping onto the hallowed grounds of Donington Park is always a special moment. The band said: “Playing Download is an unforgettable experience. The UK crowd is always electric, and there’s nothing like the feeling of thousands of voices singing with us. Get ready, because we’re bringing everything we’ve got!”
Download Festival has also expanded its digital reach, launching a new WhatsApp channel to keep fans updated with announcements, merchandise drops, and key festival info. Additionally, the Download Family membership, introduced in January, gives loyal fans exclusive perks such as presale access and discounts on festival merchandise.
With this latest announcement, Download 2025 is shaping up to be an unmissable event. More surprises are expected in the coming months, so for those looking to be part of the action, tickets are on sale now at www.downloadfestival.co.uk.
