Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre has this afternoon announced the return of everyone’s favourite dame, David Ashley, for this year’s enchanting pantomime, Cinderella.
Running from 7th December 2024 to 5th January 2025, David will once again don his size 10 stilettos to play the beloved housekeeper, Molly Miggins, in this timeless rags-to-riches tale.
David Ashley’s illustrious 30-year career has seen him perform in the West End’s biggest hits, including Cats, Les Misérables, Blood Brothers, Starlight Express, and Me and My Girl. Yet, it is his annual performance at the Wyvern Theatre that he holds most dear. Marking his eleventh year on the Wyvern stage, David expressed his excitement: “I am thrilled to be back at the Wyvern Theatre this year again for my eleventh season, in the glorious pantomime Cinderella. Get your tickets now… and you know what I say… ‘ave it!”
Laura James, Wyvern’s Theatre Director, shared her enthusiasm about David’s return: “We are absolutely delighted that the iconic David Ashley will once again be returning to Pantoland at the Wyvern this December! Swindon audiences adore David, and it really wouldn’t be Panto without him. He brings the stage, story, and magic alive, every time!”
With additional casting to be announced, including talented local youngsters, Cinderella promises to make all your Christmas wishes come true. Audiences can look forward to side-splitting laughs, sensational singing and dancing, loads of audience participation, and a sprinkle of fairy godmother magic.
The classic tale follows poor Cinderella, who toils night and day yet dreams of a better life. Her hopes soar with an invitation to the royal ball. However, her wicked stepsisters are determined to crush her dreams. Will her Fairy Godmother and loyal friend Buttons thwart their wicked plans?
