It may not even be the Summer holidays yet but Imagine Theatre is gearing up to bring the enchanting tale of Cinderella to Swindon this Christmas, and they’re on the lookout for talented local youngsters to join the cast.
Open auditions are set to take place on Sunday, 7th July at the Wyvern Theatre, offering aspiring dancers aged between 9-16 and in school years 4-11 the opportunity to showcase their skills on stage as part of the Junior Ensemble.
During the auditions, participants will have the chance to learn a routine and perform as a group in front of an audition panel.
Regardless of their experience level, all children within the specified age range are encouraged to attend and try out for the show.
Steve Boden, Managing Director of Imagine Theatre, expressed the importance of these auditions in nurturing young talent and bringing the magic of pantomime to life:
“Ahead of each pantomime season, we host open auditions across the UK to find talented youngsters to join our professional cast on stage and bring the panto magic alive. We welcome people of any ability to come along and give it a go!”
He added, “Many of the stars we work with tell us that performing in the Junior Ensemble in their local pantomimes was what sparked their love of theatre and led them in their career choices.”
If you believe you have what it takes to add that extra sparkle to this year’s pantomime, view the information pack here or visit imaginetheatre.co.uk for more information on the auditions, including age and attendance requirements.
