Booksy Book Reviews – Honest book reviews written by a kid, for kids- Wonder

WONDER by R.J Palicio : Book review by Booksy.

Hello guys, today I’m going to be reviewing the amazing Wonder by R.J Palicio. This beautifully written book has remained a favourite of mine for over three years now.
The story is about a boy called Auggie, who has a rare facial disorder making him look different from all the other kids. The doctors never thought he would make it past infancy- but he proved them wrong. And now he has to prove everyone wrong again- because he’s going to go to middle school, which is hard for people in the best of circumstances.
Things are hard for Auggie at Beecher Prep School, but there are kind people to help him along the way, from the principal, to his friends, to teachers. However, there are also some bullies. Can Auggie stand up to them? Find out in this spectacular novel.
One of the things that makes the book stand out for me is the fact that it has different narrative viewpoints so you can hear lots of sides to the story. This is something of a rarity in children’s fiction.
I promise you that you will fall in love with this book just like I did. And as I simply couldn’t find anything wrong with Wonder, I’m going to rate it a 10/10.
Definitely look out for it or order it as soon as possible! I also recommend you buy the second book – Auggie and me – as you will want to read it straight away!

Happy reading!
