The half a million pound reconstruction of Upham Road will start on Monday (18 June). The works have been spilt into two main phases with a third budget dependent phase.
Immanuel URC Church to Brixham Avenue – full road closure with no access at any time. Work is anticipated to last five weeks.
Drove Road to Immanuel URC Church – full road closure with no access at any time. Work will start after Phase 1, and should last five weeks.
Brixham Avenue to Queens Drive (budget dependent phase) – lane closures (access maintained) which will be carried out alongside phases 1 and 2.
With the road not being open to traffic, the Number 17 bus will not run through Upham Road and will instead be diverted via Queens Drive, Drove Road and Groundwell Road.
However, in response to this, the Council has organised a replacement service through Akcess which will pick up residents of Upham Road and the adjoining streets from the existing bus stop on Drove Road, close to the entrance of Queen’s Park between Monday and Saturday at 9.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
