Swindon Wildcats are delighted to be completing the #5in5 week with the confirmation that former GB international forward Phil Hill will be returning for a second season at the Link Centre.

Phil originally joined the Wildcats in December going on to post 7 goals and 17 assists in 28 games for the Cats. Since his arrival from Telford Phil’s experience was clear to see and he quickly became a vital member of the squad.

This experience and leadership is one of the reasons Player Coach Aaron Nell is so pleased to see him back in Swindon colours again this coming campaign.

“I’m delighted Phil has come back for another year. He was great when he come to us last season and was a huge part of our team. He was that professional mindset that is hugely important when you’re trying to build a winning team.” Nell said.

He went on to add. “Phil is great example to the young players on our team in the way he handles himself on the ice, in the dressing room and how he prepares for each and every game. I know he enjoyed his time in Swindon last season and is motivated to bring trophies to Swindon this season”.

Speaking himself about his return to Swindon, Phil was equally as happy to be back in the Wildcats locker room for another season, and looking to compete for trophies.

“It’s great to re-join the Wildcats. I have been impressed with the organisation and it was a fun club to be a part of last year. There are a lot of positives to build on from last year and it is a club that is going about things the right way.

This year will be a little of an unknown, but it will be good to start with a pressure of competing for the championship. This will only improve the culture around the club, and with some of the exciting young talent on the roster, it will be good for them to develop under the pressure of having consistency in their game”. Hill added.
