Greek Islands, Lesvos, Tinos, Serifos, Santorini and Zakynthos have all been added to the Travel Corridor list for travellers from England this week.

The popular Greek islands were removed from the quarantine list following a decrease in confirmed coronavirus cases, the Department for Transport said.

There were also no countries removed from the travel corridor list this week despite earlier reports that Italy could see them taken from the list.

Every week The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) take the decision to either remove or add places to the ‘safe to travel list’ based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks in the country.

In a tweet this afternoon Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport wrote: “TRAVEL CORRIDOR UPDATE: We are ADDING Lesvos, Tinos, Serifos, Santorini and Zakynthos to the Travel Corridor list this week.

“From 4am Saturday October 10, if you arrive from those Greek islands, you will NO LONGER need to self-isolate.

“We are not REMOVING any countries.”

He added: “REMINDER: You MUST complete a Passenger Locator Form by law if you enter the UK from ANY location (travel corridor or otherwise) to protect public health and help keep everyone safe.”
