Swindon Speedway are counting down to their biggest night of the season this Thursday.
They face King’s Lynn at the Abbey Stadium in a Premiership Supporters’ Cup tie – and if they win it they are through to the final to face Belle Vue.
CFS Filtration Robins chief Alun Rossiter says it would mean a lot to the club to make the inaugural staging of the final.
“It’s a big night for us on Thursday,” he said. “We need to win and we make the final and to make the final of any national competition is quite an achievement in itself.
“We need to see a big turnout of supporters, it will be a cracking meeting and I expect King’s Lynn to give us a real tough test.
“Reaching the final would also be a nice reward for everyone who has worked so hard at the stadium this year. The new track is settling down nicely and the racing will just get better and better from here.”
King’s Lynn include top British duo Robert Lambert and Craig Cook and visited the Abbey earlier this month with Swindon edging them out 50-40.
“They have riders who know how to get around this track now,” said Rossiter. “It’s going to be a really competitive night of racing.”
