It has been revealed that The Royal Mint is planning to re-release the popular 10p A-Z coin collection.
Each of the 26 different coin designs depict something British.
It is expected that the 2019 release will see an additional 2.1 million coins struck from the original 2018 circulation figures.
The only difference between last year’s and this year’s is the date stamped on the coin. The designs are otherwise the same.
The first coin – the A – features the famous Angel of the North, B features James Bond’s 007, followed by cricket for C and a double decker bus for D.
Nicola Howell, director of consumer business at The Royal Mint, says: “These 26 individually designed coins, each with a quintessentially British subject, is the first ever commemorative range struck on a 10 pence piece.
“It will be one of the most limited issue coin designs for 2019 to be released into circulation, so to complete the collection we also have an exclusively designed 2019 A to Z collector album.”
When are the new coins released and where can I get one?
If you can’t wait to get your hands on one in circulation and you are already super keen, then they will also be available to purchase on the Royal Mint website.
Obtaining the whole collection will set you back £52, with individual coins selling for £2 each.
For those of you who like to get their hands on one before they enter circulation you can pay a visit to the Royal Mint Experience and see the coins in the flesh before you purchase one.
