A teenager has been arrested and a large quantity of cash seized after a member of the public called us to report suspected drug dealing.

We were called shortly before 1.30pm yesterday (17/04/19) by someone reporting suspicious activity in Buckthorn Drive, Haydon Wick.

Officers attended and searched the area, locating a suspect nearby in Locksgreen Crescent. He was searched a large quantity of cash was located.

A 17-year-old boy from the Surrey area was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs. He has been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.

Acting Sergeant Rory Draper, from Swindon North Community Policing Team, said: “This incident highlights how we can work with local communities to tackle drug dealing.

“If you phone us to report your concerns or suspicions, then we can take action – but we can’t do this without the public’s help.

“If you have information that you think could help us then please call police on 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress.”
