If you are one of the millions of iPhone users throughout the world you may find your phone and iCloud account completely wiped on April 7th if rumours are to believed.
A group of Turkish hackers are asking for $75,000 by next month or they will wipe up to 300 million iPhones and iCloud accounts.
According to a report in Motherboard they claim to have credentials which would allow them access to hundreds of millions of users’ accounts, and are threatening to wipe a number of them unless they are paid.
Screenshots of discussions with Apple’s security team show Apple requesting that the gang remove a YouTube video where they supposedly access an elderly woman’s iCloud account.
So if your phone suddenly speeds up in a couple of weeks time or the battery last longer than just a few hours you will probably find your phone memory has been wiped.
