Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident which occurred in the area of Clive Parade/Cricklade Road in Swindon in the early hours of Sunday 26th August 2018.

Shortly before 6:00am the victim, a 47 year old local man, was walking near to the roundabout by Headlands Grove when he saw a woman who appeared to be crying.

He went to check on her welfare and as they walked together down an alleyway to the rear of Clive Parade the victim was approached by a man and assaulted. It is believed that the victim lost consciousness and whilst he was on the ground his wallet was stolen.

A small group of 3/4 young men entered the alley a short time after the robbery and helped the victim. He sustained injuries to his head which required treatment but fortunately they were not serious.

The woman was described as white, aged in her early twenties and had long dark hair.  The man is described as white, of slim build with light coloured hair.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or has any information. In particular they would like to speak to the young men who found the victim shortly after the incident as they may be able to assist in the investigation.
