Are you benefiting from the government’s Tax-free Childcare scheme?

The scheme was launched in April 2017, and means that for every £80 you pay towards childcare, the government adds a further £20 – a boost of up to £2,000 a year per child, while parents of children with qualifying disabilities can get up to £4,000.

This benefit is available to all children up to and including the age of 11, as long as you and your partner – if you have one – are both working and are earning at least £131 a week.

With 1.5 million families being eligible for the scheme across England, news that just one in every six have signed up means many are missing out

To take advantage of the scheme, you need to pay for childcare via a special Tax-free Childcare account, which you can create here.
