Police are urging residents to be vigilant following a theft from a vehicle in Swindon.

Between 6pm on April 2 and 2am on April 3, a Ford Kuga parked in Emerson Close was broken into by two men.

Approximately £450 cash and a woman’s purse containing all her cards was stolen.

Several attempts have then been made to use the bank cards at a number of locations around the town including Penhill service station and Brett and Sons in Cricklade Road.

Enquiries have been ongoing and the CCTV image is of a man police would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

PC Leila Williams said: “Residents should be mindful of incidents of this nature and we would urge people to remove any valuables from their vehicles at all times. If this is not possible, please ensure they are locked out of sight so you do not fall victim to opportunistic thieves.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54190032215.
