A new trailer has been released today for the upcoming live-action Aladdin film starring Mena Massoud (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) alongside Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) as Aladdin and Jasmine and as Will Smith as the Genie.
Directed by Guy Ritchie and written by John August who brought us the screenplays for Charlie’s Angels, Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Aladdin is set to be a huge summer blockbuster.
This trailer gives a better understanding of how Will Smith will be interpreting the infamous Genie and also gives the first glimpse of Raja, Jasmine’s loyal and loveable pet tiger.
Aladdin comes out in cinemas on May 24th this year and is one of many live-action Disney remakes coming out in 2019, including Tim Burton’s Dumbo (March 28th) and Jon Favreau’s The Lion King (July 19th).
Other animated classics that are getting remakes from Disney include Mulan, The Little Mermaid, The Lady and the Tramp, Snow White and Pinocchio.
