Artswords Reading Group takes place at Lower Shaw Farm on Tuesday 17th July at 7.30pm. This month’s book is Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders.

The 2017 Booker Prize winner, this novel takes place during and after the death of Abraham Lincoln’s son and deals with the president’s grief at his loss.

In his long-awaited first novel, American short story master George Saunders delivers his most original, transcendent, and moving work yet. Unfolding in a graveyard over the course of a single night, narrated by a dazzling chorus of voices, Lincoln in the Bardo is a literary experience unlike any other—for no one but Saunders could conceive it.

For this last session, please bring suggestions of books for the rest of the year.
