Metro Bank, ‘the revolution in British banking’, has started work in the town centre ahead of opening a new Metro Bank Swindon store later this year bringing with it 25 new jobs to the local economy.
This development is another boost to job hunters after news the Thistle Express is set to open in just a few weeks also bringing new jobs to the centre of Swindon
Swindonian’s will benefit from the new store being open seven days a week, early until late, 362 days a year at its prominent location on the corner of Regent Street and The Parade.
Unlike other banks, Metro Bank provides instant account opening, along with on-the-spot card printing, meaning customers can walk in without an appointment and walk out with a fully-functioning account.
Iain Kirkpatrick, Managing Director of Retail Banking at Metro Bank commented: “We’re really excited to be opening Metro Bank Swindon, not only has it been identified as one of the UK’s ‘fast-growth towns’, but has a great buzz to it.
“We can’t wait to welcome local residents and businesses to the Banking Revolution and give them to choice to bank when they want, where they want and how they want.
“All of this coupled with great customer service, helpful colleagues and technology that makes peoples’ banking experience simpler.”
Kirkpatrick continued: “We’re proud to invest in the local community and the new store will not just create around 25 new careers for local people, but will act as a hub for residents and businesses and we look forward to hosting an array of networking and community events.
“Swindon is a dynamic town that we’re excited to be a part of and we’ll be celebrating our move with two days of grand opening festivities, later this year.”
