The Swindon Film Society’s World Cinema season continues this month with the The Crow’s Egg

The Swindon Film Society’s World Cinema season continues its voyage around the globe, this time to Tamil Nadu in Southern India.

Set in the slums of Chennai, M. Manikandan’s The Crow’s Egg sees two young brothers strangely determined to get their heart’s desire – a slice of pizza from a new local restaurant! And with the help of their grandmother, their dreams evolve in the most unexpected ways.

Manikandan has won several awards and earned plenty of acclaim from critics and Indian audiences for producing a film that deals with social issues without the need to lecture, rendering The Crow’s Egg as funny as it is emotional.

The film opens at 7.45pm at the Arts Centre with tickets available for purchase on the night and drinks available at the Arts Centre bar. There will be more World Cinema releases this February, and for more information, visit the Swindon Film Society’s Facebook page @swindon.film.society or go to their website www.swindonfilm.org.uk.
