As revealed earlier in the week, Chris Hussey has today been confirmed as David Flitcroft’s seventh signing of the summer after completing his season long loan from Sheffield United and will go straight into the team for tomorrow’s friendly at Swindon Supermarine.
Beating off interest from League One sides Blackpool, Plymouth and Portsmouth, it appears Town was always his preferred destination having played under Flitcroft before while he was at Bury.
The left-back was delighted to confirm his season long loan, with many seeing this as a trial for a more permanent move with the player’s contract up at Sheffield United at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old speaking to the official club website said “I’m delighted to be here. It is a big club I’ve heard a lot of great stuff about it.”
“My qualities are getting forward, putting crosses into the box, corners, free-kicks and I want to bring goals and assists to the team.”
Confirming Flitroft was a big deciding factor in choosing League Two football for the coming season he said, “Working with the gaffer again was a big attraction for me. He knows how to get out of this league having been promoted with Bury.”
