Specialists have made the decision to try and save Zach Wajtknecht’s torn spleen suffered last week.
Wajtknecht, 19, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to the internal damage suffered in his crash for Swindon against Poole.
It was a bitter blow for the popular youngster, who has been in fine form so far this season, but he has received some positive news with doctors opting not to remove his torn spleen.
We will bring you further updates on Zach’s progress when possible.
In the meantime, Swindon will be back in action as they head to King’s Lynn on Wednesday (7.30) before hosting Leicester at the Abbey on Thursday (7.30).
