Police appeal after Mannington stabbing

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed at Mannington Recreation Ground on Sunday.

At around 9.30pm on Sunday 6th August 2017; a 19-year-old man was stabbed by an unknown offender.

The victim was taken to Southmead Hospital with non-life threatening injuries where he is currently in a stable condition.

After conducting a search of the area the knife used was found nearby.

DI Paul Hacker said: “We would like to speak to anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in this area around this time.

“I want to reassure the community that we are prioritising this investigation and believe this was an isolated incident and the victim was possibly known to the offender.

“Additional reassurance patrols are being put on in the area as we continue to make enquiries.”
