Whatsapp have taken to warning users once again after a scam which tries to charge for continued access to the messaging app has been reported.
Users have been receiving a message telling them that their current subscription has expired, and that they need to follow a link to purchase lifetime access for 99p.
The link directs users to a fake Whatsapp page where the scammers look to obtain your bank details.
Whatsapp has been a completely free service since 2016 and despite charging some users in the past has not returned to a subscription based service.
If you receive the message, delete it immediately.
