Swindon Borough Council Transport Planning team is seeking views on highway improvements at Moonrakers and Transfer Bridges junctions, together with a Quality Bus Corridor scheme proposal from Tadpole Garden Village to Swindon town centre.
The proposed corridor from Tadpole Garden Village would operate via St. Andrew’s Ridge, Cricklade Road into central Swindon. The high-level plans include alternative route options through the Broadgreen district. A further proposal is the use of the former carriageway beneath the original railway bridge at Transfer Bridges for buses (travelling north-bound). The old road at this point currently serves as a pedestrian-cycle route.
There will be a series of informal drop-in public consultation events at the following times and venues:
Small Hall, Tadpole Farm CE Primary Academy
Tadpole Garden Village
Swindon. SN25 2QS
Wednesday, 4 July 2018 5.00pm – 6.15pm
Activity Room, Broadgreen Community Centre

Tuesday, 10 July 2018 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Café at the Pinetrees Community Centre
Swindon. SN2 1QR
Wednesday, 18 July 2018 5.30pm – 6.45pm
The plans and an online feedback form will be available from Wednesday, 4 July 2018 and the closing date for responses will be Monday, 30 July 2018.
These plans are part of the overall Vision for Swindon project, seeking to improve infrastructure and housing to support a growing, low-carbon economy. The proposals also form part of a key recommendation of the Swindon Transport Strategy. This strategy recommended the delivery of a high frequency rapid transit network linking the urban extensions, through Swindon’s existing communities to the town centre.
