Holidaymakers in Swindon are being warned about a new WhatsApp scam that is targeting users of popular travel firm Booking.com.

Users have reportedly been sent messages claiming a security breach has meant they have needed to log-in and change their password.

The link gives the hackers access to your online account allowing them to view your upcoming bookings with the travel firm and then follow-up messages demanding full payment for the bookings is then sent requesting payment by bank transfer.

The messages appear genuine as they include personal data such as names, addresses and phone numbers as well as dates and prices of bookings that you have genuinely made on the site.

Booking.com insists its systems were not compromised.
