Following quick on the heels of the House of Fraser closures announcement, news that Poundworld could be placed into administration within days after talks break down with potential buyers is threatening thousands more retail jobs.

After the discount retailer was placed up for sale, owners TPG Capital announced up to 100 stores would close.

Should the retailer enter administration it is understood more of the 355 UK stores would be at risk with over 5,000 jobs likely to be lost.

This looks like another doom and gloom week for the high street!
