Online banking may be contributing to a number of bank closures throughout the country, but NatWest are about to buck the trend opening a new branch in two empty units in The Parade alongside the new Wilkinsons.

The new branch is expected to become a digitally-focused branch, designed to meet the needs and demands of customers around the clock.

It is expected the new NatWest will offer customers the opportunity to conduct their banking through a range of methods including online, mobile, phone, ATM and cash deposit machine with the provision of free Wi-Fi in branch and access to iPads so that customers can register for and access online banking services.

With this afternoon’s announcement by Royal Bank of Scotland of 162 branches to close throughout England and Wales it is expected the branch on Commercial Road could close with RBS customers being advised their everyday banking needs can be met at their local NatWest.
