Homebase is planning to close around 60 of its stores, putting more than 1,000 jobs at risk according to Sky News.

It is expected the new owner of the DIY chain, which has two stores and a distribution centre in Swindon, Hilco Capital is understood to be ready to unveil its plans as soon as next week.

Hillco who recently bought the chain for just £1 from Australian firm Wesfarmers are understood to be ready to announce a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) that will include plans to close upto 60 of it’s 246 branches.
